Please accept this letter as my personal recommendation regarding the abilities and work ethic of Catherine Groves.

I have had the positive experience of working with Catherine Groves on projects that I oversee at the agency noted on this letterhead. I am the Production Manager for BMW Magazine and the Publications Manager for BMW Product Brochures. The magazine is a 100-page publication that is currently produced three times a year and the Product Brochures, which range in size from 68 pages to over 100 pages, provide content that is specific to each BMW model sold in the United States. The Product Brochures are produced twice a year and each sequence of the two publication schedules consists of 17-20 individual brochures. As with the scheduling found in most other agencies, all of the above mentioned publications are produced under very tight deadlines.

All of the work on the projects I oversee has been made much easier the past few years because of the fact that Ms. Groves' ability as a proofreader and editor is second to none. I have been in the typesetting/graphics business for more than 40 years — and I have never worked with a more competent proofreader. Ms. Groves assumption of responsibility for all of the projects she has worked on is very commendable. And she consistently adds another level to her exceptional proofreading skills with her ability to offer positive comments on editing text when asked to do so. Adding to her repertoire of skills is her unquestionable knowledge of punctuation and grammar rules that is always reassuring when editing questions arise. Unfortunately for me, because of cost-cutting measures at the agency, she will be sorely missed. I am not at a loss for compliments when it comes to describing my work relationship with Ms. Groves and her abilities.

I am confident that Ms. Groves would provide you with the quality and consistency you expect and hope to achieve with your proofreading or editing workload if you decide to offer her employment.
